All-inclusive Cairns Waterfall Tour

Our waterfall tour is a full-day adventure featuring some of the most stunning, tropical swimming spots and beautiful rainforest areas on the Atherton Tablelands. When you join us for this tour, we'll kick off with a coach pick up from your Cairns accommodation or alternative meeting point around 7:30am.

Paronella Park, Josephine Falls & Babinda Boulders

Then we travel to Josephine Falls, where you can slide down natural rockslides. Next up we visit Babinda Boulders and then some more amazing falls before ascending up into the cool tropical rainforest climes of the Atherton Tablelands via the Gillies Highway, into the verdant green landscape of the Goldsborough Valley and enjoying the spectacular vistas along the way before stopping into Paronella Park. The extensive National Trust-listed gardens at Paronella Park are our next stop, where a 45-minute guided tour in English, Chinese or Japanese tells the story of the park’s memorable architecture. Photo opportunities abound here, from Kauri Avenue to Teresa Falls and the Grand Staircase. With 2.5 hours here, you’ll have ample time to explore the grounds and appreciate its history.

Lunch at Mungalli Creek Dairy Cafe

Now it’s time for Lunch at Mungalli Creek Organic Dairy will be a highlight of your day. The farm is located on the edge of the World Heritage Lamington National Park offering spectacular views over the mountains and rainforest. They are passionate about making quality produce using sustainable practices and they have developed a range of award-winning cheeses that you can sample at their café.

Millaa Millaa Waterfalls, Zillie Falls &  Ellinjaa Falls

We then take a beautiful scenic drive in the Atherton Tablelands to the waterfall circuit. This circuit takes you through the lush green rainforest of the Atherton Tablelands and features three amazing waterfalls, Zillie Falls, Ellinjaa Falls, and Millaa Millaa Waterfalls. Well placed picnic areas surrounding all three cascades will give you plenty of opportunity for great photos as well. Our first waterfall is Millaa Millaa Falls, which has a 18m (60ft) waterfall dropping over the long pipe formation of surface rocks. Beneath the waterfall is a plunge pool, surrounded by a rich green rainforest and a grassy picnic area. Swimming under or standing behind the waterfalls, is popular with many visitors visiting Millaa Millaa falls. If you are extremely lucky some people have spotted platypus in the creek, as well as small turtles and fish. You’ll want to put this on your bucket list when exploring the region.

Curtain Fig Tree

After visiting the magical waterfall circuit we journey to the a truly magnificent sightseeing attraction – the Curtain Fig Tree. Atherton Tableland is famous for its rainforest and this particular tree is estimated to be over 500 years old, with a trunk circumference of 39 and gets its name from its tendrils that hang down from the sky. One of the iconic tourists sights you should see when visiting Atherton Tableland, it’s one of the inspiration for Avatar movie… Wow!

Lake Barrine

Our last destination before heading home is Lake Barrine. Lake Barrine is a truly beautiful place, located in the Volcanic Crater Lakes National Park, which is within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. Lake Barrine boasts an abundance of natural Australian beauty and features a quaint timber heritage tea house perched on the edge of the crystal clear waters of the lake and nestled amongst lush tropical rainforest. We highly recommend that visitors take time out to treat themselves to an award winning Devonshire Tea in the Tea House and a Rainforest and Wildlife Cruise on the sapphire waters of Lake Barrine.

End of our Cairns Waterfall Tour

After a full day of of rainforest, history and waterfalls behind us, itis time to head back to the city of Cairns and back to your accommodation. We will arrive at 6.00pm and make this back trip in about 50 minutes, so you can enjoy an evening around Cairns.
